About the DJI Neo
The Neo is the least intimidating camera drone ever made. At 135g with fully enclosed propellers, it launches from your palm, executes a follow, orbit or dronie shot, and lands back in your hand — no controller, no app, no experience required. It is the only drone in our budget picks we would happily fly indoors or hand to a complete novice.
The 1/2-inch sensor shoots surprisingly good 4K/30 in daylight, and subject tracking is the reason to buy: it locks on and holds framing while you walk, run or cycle. Accept the compromises — roughly 15 real-world minutes per battery, single-axis gimbal, modest wind handling — and it is a brilliant flying camera. Its successor, the Neo 2, adds obstacle sensing if the budget stretches.
