Traeth Lligwy

Traeth Lligwy, just north of the fishing village of Moelfre, is a wide, gently shelving arc of golden sand on Anglesey's quieter east coast - and one of the more relaxed, low-hassle drone launches on the island. It never feels as pressured as the honeypot west-coast beaches, the car park sits right behind the dunes, and at low tide you get an enormous expanse of firm sand to work from with easy separation from other people. From the air it's all sweeping bay, low headlands and the Snowdonia mountains rising across the strait on a clear day. The beach and its field car park are locally run rather than National Trust, so recreational take-off and landing here is straightforward provided you follow the Drone Code. There's no airport FRZ nearby (RAF Valley is roughly 25km west) and no danger area overhead. It's within Anglesey AONB, and grey seals and seabirds use this coast, so keep out over open water rather than tracking the cliffs toward Moelfre's lifeboat station. A calm, off-season low tide is ideal; even in summer it stays manageable. A genuinely pleasant, uncomplicated spot.
