Sutton-on-Sea Beach

A wide, flat, firm-sand beach that's noticeably calmer than Mablethorpe or Skegness just up and down the coast — ideal for uncluttered coastal flying and long, clean tracking shots along the tideline. At low water the sand goes on forever, giving acres of obstacle-free launch space and a natural leading-line of groynes and breakwaters to compose with; the seafront gardens, colourful beach huts and paddling pool add character to the north. The beach and promenade are managed by East Lindsey District Council, and sub-250g flying is generally tolerated so long as you keep clear of people and dogs — in summer the hut-and-pool area gets busy, so work the emptier sands to the south and stay well back from bathers. The foreshore below mean high water is Crown Estate. Flat, open and often breezy off the North Sea, so watch onshore wind pushing you inland and salt spray on the airframe. Importantly, RAF Donna Nook air weapons range and its danger area lie roughly 15km up the coast to the north — do not track that way. Best off-season or at a low, early tide.
