A 70ft two-stage waterfall crashing through a mossy, fern-hung ravine just five minutes' walk above Ambleside - a Victorian tourist favourite that still delivers, especially after rain. Honestly, this is a hard drone site and I include it as a challenge piece rather than an easy win: the fall sits in a deep, tree-choked gorge where GPS drops out, there is almost no room to manoeuvre, and downdraught off the wet rock is real. If you want the shot, a small sub-250g flown manually with a spotter, from a tiny clearing, and only in still air, is the way - otherwise this is a place to appreciate on foot and grab a ground-level long exposure instead. When it works you get an intimate, jungle-green frame with white water threading through the trees that no wide fell shot can match. Go in spate after heavy rain for maximum drama; go early to beat the steady trickle of walkers on the loop path.
