Snipe Dales Country Park

Snipe Dales is a hidden fold of the southern Lincolnshire Wolds - a country park of steep-sided little valleys, streams and scrubby woodland that feels far wilder than the gentle farmland around it. The Lincolnshire County Council country park has a proper car park off the Winceby road, and the higher, open ground gives pleasant compositions down into the wooded dells with the Wolds rolling away east. Be clear on the geography, though: the site is split, and the adjoining Snipe Dales Nature Reserve is run by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, who explicitly prohibit drone flying over their reserves. So keep strictly to the country-park side, launch from the open grass near the car park, avoid overflying the reserve and the nesting valley woodland, and treat it as a viewpoint shoot rather than a low chase through the dales. It's quiet - not a honeypot - with the usual dog-walkers and ground-nesting birds to respect. Airspace is simple Class G; RAF Coningsby sits ~20km NW and its fast-jet circuit can be busy, plus Wolds military low-flying, so keep a good lookout and stay ready to land. The valleys hold mist at dawn and the woodland turns richly in autumn - both the best reasons to come.
