Parlick

Parlick is the steep, conical nose at the south-west corner of the Forest of Bowland above Chipping, and one of Lancashire's finest short viewpoints. From the Fell Foot car park it is a sharp pull to the top, but the reward is a sweeping outlook over the Fylde plain to Blackpool Tower and the sea, with the Bowland fells rolling away behind. It is open access land, so TOAL is realistic for a light drone. The single most important caution is that Parlick is one of the busiest paragliding and hang-gliding hills in northern England — the Pennine Soaring Club flies it constantly in any south-westerly. Manned aircraft always have priority and you must not launch when canopies are up; pick a still or cross-wind day, or fly early before pilots arrive. Beyond that it is a friendly spot: firm grass, big skies and superb low evening light raking across the fell. Keep clear of sheep and the paragliding launch scoop. It sits in the Forest of Bowland National Landscape (AONB); BAE Warton's zone is ~27km south-west and Blackpool's ~26km west, so airspace is clear. Just check the wind and the sky first.
