Mundesley Beach

Mundesley is an underrated little North Norfolk resort that most drone lists skip in favour of Cromer, and that is exactly why it works - quieter beaches, a tidy prom and low sandy cliffs that photograph beautifully in low sun. From the Beach Road car park you drop straight onto clean sand backed by the cliff line, giving you a natural leading edge to compose along. The village, the old coastguard lookout and the groyne-striped beach all make good subjects. It rarely feels crowded outside peak August weekends, so you can usually launch away from people. Two honest cautions: the cliffs here are soft glacial till and actively eroding, so take off from the beach rather than the crumbling edge, and mind the lifeguarded swimming zone in season. There is no National Trust or RSPB land immediately adjacent, and North Norfolk District Council imposes no specific drone byelaw on the beach, but standard separation rules apply - keep 50m from the coastguard station and other people. Nearest controlled airspace is Norwich, roughly 25km inland, so the sky overhead is clear. Low tide plus golden hour is the sweet spot for the cliffs and groynes.
