Marazion & St Michael's Mount

Marazion delivers one of Cornwall's signature images — St Michael's Mount rising from Mount's Bay with its causeway drawn across the sand at low tide. Crucially, you fly from the town side: the long public beach and its foreshore are open Crown/Council land, not National Trust, so take-off and landing here are legitimate. The Mount itself is National Trust and a working island community with a harbour, castle and residents, so treat it as a subject, not a launch pad — keep height and distance, avoid low passes over buildings, gardens and visitors, and never TOAL on the island. Frame the causeway, moored boats and granite crag against the bay for the classic shot. This is an exposed, busy beach in season with kite-surfers and swimmers, so choose early morning and mind onlookers' privacy. Wind off the bay can be brisk. Large pay-and-display car parks sit right behind the beach. The nearest FRZs are Land's End Airport about 10km west and RNAS Culdrose roughly 15km south-east — both comfortably clear. Low tide at golden hour is unbeatable.
