Lepe Country Park

Lepe sits on the Solent shore looking straight across to the Isle of Wight, with Cowes and the shipping channel dead ahead and the Needles off to the west. It is a Hampshire County Council country park with a shingle-and-sand beach, low crumbling cliffs, and evocative D-Day remains: the concrete 'dolphins' and Mulberry harbour construction relics make superb foreground for a coastal reveal, and the constant procession of yachts and container ships keeps the frame alive. Hampshire confirmed in a Freedom of Information response that it holds no specific anti-drone byelaw, but this is a busy, family-oriented country park, so treat it as a considerate-flying site: launch from the beach or the quieter eastern end away from the cafe and play areas, and avoid the crowds entirely in peak summer. Airspace is workable, with no FRZ overhead and Southampton airport about 11km north, but the Fawley refinery and its hazard zone sit just to the northwest, so keep your flight over the beach and sea, never toward the industrial plant. Parking is pay-and-display and fills fast on sunny days. Best flown on a calm weekday morning at low-ish tide, when the D-Day structures are exposed and the light across the Solent is soft.
