Kessingland Beach

A long, wide, refreshingly uncrowded beach south of Lowestoft that flies well if you respect one clear boundary. The Church Road beach car park puts you a short walk from a big open sand-and-shingle frontage with low cliffs and enormous skies, and there's no drone byelaw on the public beach. Airspace here is genuinely clear, with no RAF FRZ close by. The essential rule is directional: Benacre National Nature Reserve sits immediately to the south, and its lagoons and shingle host internationally important nesting little terns and other protected birds. Do not fly south toward the sluice and Benacre Broad, especially April to August, when disturbance could be an offence; keep your flying north of the town frontage and out to sea. Handled that way, it's a relaxed, spacious spot that rarely feels busy even in summer, and the reserve's lagoons make a dramatic distant backdrop you can shoot from a respectful distance. The beach is exposed, so pick a calm window for a light airframe, and launch from the firmer sand rather than the soft upper shingle. Facilities are limited but the car park is decent and the whole place feels pleasingly off the tourist trail.
