Chapel Point, St Leonards

Chapel Point sits on the quieter stretch of the Lincolnshire coast between the caravan bustle of Ingoldmells and the dunes of Anderby, and it's a genuinely easy, legal beach flight. The distinctive brick sea-watching tower and the concrete sea-defence blocks give you rare foreground interest on an otherwise vast, flat coast - hard geometry against a huge tidal beach and endless North Sea horizon. Below mean high water the foreshore is Crown Estate land where responsible recreational take-off is generally tolerated, so walk down onto the open sand at low tide, well away from people, and you have space in every direction. It's textbook beginner terrain: flat, uncrowded outside peak summer, and open sky. Two practical notes - the sea breeze is near-constant and salt spray is unkind to motors, so keep the aircraft upwind of the surf and wipe it down after; and mind the Chapel Point tower and any anglers on the blocks. Airspace is clean Class G with no FRZ close. Sunrise over the sea is the shot - you're on the east coast, so the light comes up straight off the water - and low tide exposes the widest, most photogenic sand and groyne patterns.
