Capel-le-Ferne Cliffs (Battle of Britain Memorial)

Perched on the White Cliffs between Folkestone and Dover, this is a stirring stretch of clifftop — France visible on a clear day, the Channel shipping lanes stacked below, and the Battle of Britain Memorial's swooping propeller layout begging for a top-down. Importantly, this is NOT the National Trust's White Cliffs of Dover (that TOAL-banned site is around 10km east); the grassy clifftop here beside the Saxon Shore Way is public access, so you can launch from the coastal path or the free clifftop parking. Do keep launches and low passes off the memorial grounds themselves and away from visitors — the Memorial Trust understandably doesn't want drones buzzing a place of reflection, so fly the coastline, not the monument. The flying itself demands respect: strong onshore winds hit the cliff and generate orographic updraught and rotor that can shove a light drone around unpredictably, and there's a long drop with fast-moving gulls. Airspace is workable — Lydd (London Ashford) FRZ is roughly 22km south-west and Manston about 20km north-east, both clear. Pick a calm, clear morning; avoid strong southerlies.
