Butt of Lewis Lighthouse

The wild, wind-hammered northern tip of the Isle of Lewis — a red-brick unpainted lighthouse (a rarity) standing on gneiss cliffs that take the full force of the Atlantic. It's raw, elemental drone country: orbit the lighthouse with the layered rock stacks and geos below, or push north and drop toward the swell exploding on the cliff base for genuinely powerful footage. There's nothing but ocean beyond, so the sense of edge-of-the-world scale is huge, and sunsets here are extraordinary. The trade-off is that the Butt is officially one of the windiest places in the UK — a sub-250g drone will struggle on all but the calmest days, and even a C1 machine needs respect; always keep it upwind over land so the wind can't blow it out to sea. Seabirds (fulmars, gulls, kittiwakes) nest on the cliffs in spring and summer, so give the faces height and distance in breeding season. Launch from the grass by the lighthouse car park under access rights; the lighthouse is a Northern Lighthouse Board site, not HES/NTS. No airport FRZ near — Stornoway is ~40km south. This is exposed, unfenced cliff-edge terrain; mind your footing.
