Binsey

Binsey is the outlier of the Northern Fells, a rounded 447m dome standing apart from the Skiddaw massif with nothing to the north but the Solway and Scotland. For drone pilots it is close to ideal: it is registered common/open access land rather than National Trust ground, so you can legally take off from the fell, and the short grassy walk from the road layby means you are not lugging kit for hours. From the top the 360 is enormous — Skiddaw and Blencathra filling the south, the Solway Firth and the Galloway hills north, Bassenthwaite glinting to the east. Because it is so isolated there is very little to obstruct a wide establishing shot, and the summit's Bronze Age cairn gives a foreground point of interest. It is a genuinely quiet hill; you will often have it to yourself, which makes flying stress-free. Wind is the main variable, as there is no shelter up top, so pick a settled day and keep an eye on battery reserves against any headwind on the return leg. This is one of the easiest legal Lakeland launches you will find, and a rare summit that isn't tangled up in NT byelaws.
